The Royal British Legion 90th Birthday, Mayor of Carlisle, Lord-Lieutenant & Lady Cropper & ©Shellybobbins™ at the Sands Centre Carlisle
What a celebration The Royal British Legion 90th Birthday, What a fantastic night
Founded by trumpeter Kevin Cunningham, the Moonlight Serenade Orchestra UK has wowed audiences in concert halls and theatres all over Great Britain. Known for its mix of big band swing teamed with outstanding vocals, the orchestra's repertoire ranges from the classics of Glenn Miller through Count Basie and Tommy Dorsey to the cool vibe of Sinatra. In addition to the big band numbers there are solo spots from a number of top notch musicians and fabulous renditions from our smooth vocalist Mr. Pat O'Hare formerly of BBC's Northern Dance Orchestra and at 79 years young still going strong. The MSO UK is currently touring and will be appearing at Morecambe on 4th June (The Platform), Nottingham Playhouse 2nd July, Stirling Albert Halls 24th August, Musselburgh Brunton Theatre 25th August, Cheltenham Pittville Pump Rooms 15th October and Folkestone Tower Theatre 22nd October.

Windows Week in Wigton Cumbria "Toad Hall" invites ©Shellybobbins™
Toad Hall Wigton
Windows Week runs every year in Wigton and in the past has just been artists this year artists are all grouped together in the market hall in fabulous displays, other shops in Wigton have given up there window for 2 weeks to give local crafts people a chance to be seen, which I was very honoured to be asked, by Elaine who owns Toad Hall in Wigton. This does remind me of Britain's Next Best Thing With Theo Paphitis from Dragons Den where Libertys of London & Habitat open there doors to some amazing talented people, everyone had to que up & pitch your idea direct to them ! maybe one day with my rag dolls designed & made in cumbria (dream) ~ and about time we had things BRITISH MADE. England has amazing people in it & what a great way to show off local talent by having "Windows Week" x
Ive been sewing for years but after being made redundant for the 3rd time I set up ©Shellybobbins™ after going on a business course & applying for grants to buy an embroidery machine, my prototype rag doll is in the process after 10months of researching, designing, learning all about the the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 that comes into force in July, So in the mean time Ive made other gorgeous gifts, Ive done lots of drawings & some have made it to the pattern stage (giggles) I really didn't know I was actually capable of doing any of this, until I had ago

Why not have an Embroidered Wedding By Shellybobbins
I make lots of handmade, handsewn gifts doesnt have to be for a special occasion but if it was for a wedding I could make really lovely old fashioned paper chains with a difference, The ones I make are with felt & embroidered too all handcut, & embroidered this lovely felt chain could be used for wedding with different colours of felt or thread I could also be used as a lovely first anniversary gift with time, date, names or just a special message.
I really loved the idea of old fashioned paper chains & just wondered how I could make them different I know after doing my research there wasnt any on the market, something abit different and unique too !
I make wedding cushions with names & date but again these could be used as a birthday or anniversary or just I love you. I also love making wedding bells, horse shoes, hearts too.
Another idea would be to use my buttons in a brides bouquet with love messages or a date the bride & groom met, these can be then sent back to me & I can make a wedding cushion with the buttons sewn on to make the message speak for its self.
Favours for weddings no problem at all run some ideas passed me and I would come up with handmade & embroidered but better still a lovely unique gift for everyone personalised for ‘bride’ ‘groom’ ‘best man’ ‘bridesmaids’ anyone name I can embroider just making it that bit special as thats what a weddings about x
Gifts for bridesmaids can also be made, ring cushions embroidered felt envelopes to keep the wedding rings safe too.
These felt envelopes are fantastic just on there own & great for using to wrap gifts & very lovely way of personalising too.these are fantastic as a name place setting for weddings and great to then ribbon on gift bags ~ another unsual gift for all kind of accasions & I made alot of these at christmas for family with their names on ~ great on the christmas tree too
I hope you like my ideas for you and pop by my lovely shop
